Welcome to the HITSG Acumen blog. We intend for this blog to be a conduit for information of interest to you, the practicing nephrologist, as you intersect with health information technology.
I am a nephrologist and practiced for 15 years in three geographic locations (Des Moines, IA; Columbia, SC; and most recently Southside Virginia). In the fall of 2007 I completed the executive MBA program at Duke University’s Fuqua School of Business with a focus on Health Sector Management. For the past three years I have worked with Health IT Services Group, most recently in the capacity of Chief Medical Officer. Last year our company was acquired by Fresenius Medical Care and today we operate as a wholly owned subsidiary of FMC.
As a relatively new entrant into the world of social media, HITSG Acumen has enlisted both internal resources and outside professionals to help us launch this project. Through this blog, we intend to offer an objective discussion on a wide range of topics. As it expands, we anticipate soliciting input from a number of authors. We also value your input and participation in the conversation.
