The Physician Quality Reporting System (PQRS) is a government program designed to elevate the quality of information reported by health care professionals. The Acumen PQRS Registry has been the most utilized PQRS registry by nephrologists since 2009. Last year over 1100 nephrologists reported their data through the Acumen PQRS Registry as “individual providers” with the Chronic Kidney Disease Measures Group, which only requires a 20 patient sample.
As we begin our eighth year as a CMS approved registry, we want to inform the nephrology community that CMS can withhold up to 6% of an eligible provider’s 2018 physician fee schedule for those providers who do not successfully report PQRS in 2016.
The Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD) Measures Group consists of the following measures:
47 – Advance Care Plan
110 – Preventive Care and Screening: Influenza Immunization.
121 – Adult Kidney Disease: Laboratory Testing (Lipid Profile).
122 – Adult Kidney Disease: Blood Pressure Management.
130 – Documentation of Current Medications in the Medical Record
226 – Tobacco Use: Screening and Cessation Intervention
It is not too late to enroll in the Acumen PQRS registry. We look forward to making your PQRS experience a success by providing you proper training and excellent support!
“PQRS has been a helpful tool in reporting our data, and we have qualified for meaningful use every year it’s been available.”
